Since the beginning of 2020, oneword GmbH has been using Plunet BusinessManager to plan and coordinate their translation management processes. With Plunet at their side, the company wants to build on their current automation processes and increase productivity.
We talked to CEO Andrea Modersohn about choosing Plunet, specific areas of use, and plans for the future.
Hello Ms. Modersohn, welcome to the community of Plunet customers! Please say a few words about your company.
oneword GmbH is one of the leading providers of language services and this is reflected in our high standards regarding work and tools. We are already using innovative technology in our extensive services, for example in technical documentation or translation and technology management. These different technologies let us increase our collaboration and communication options whilst reducing processing time and effort.
We are also ISO-17100 and ISO-18587 certified, a DIN member of the standards committee for terminology and translation services and certified technology partner of Across, SCHEMA and SDL Trados, among others. This means that we have high requirements for the integration and mapping of our processes.
You mentioned using different technologies. Why did you choose Plunet BusinessManager?
Plunet BusinessManager is an innovative, future-oriented product made in Germany that matches our high standards of service quality. The translation and business management software is capable of adapting to our internal processes and at the same time completely documents all of our working steps.
The same applies for scaling and automation. As a continually growing company, we need a system that not only reflects our high process requirements, but can also handle the increasing number of projects and employees. A system that can also automate some process steps—even in combination with established CAT systems such as Across, SDL Trados Studio, and SDL Trados GroupShare.
Additional modules such as QualityManager were another plus point for us as a quality-oriented language service provider.
How did you handle your translation management processes before Plunet?
Before we started using Plunet, we were working with another professional project management system. Although it was adapted to our individual requirements, it was no longer suitable as the number of projects and employees increased. With Plunet, we are taking the next step towards automation and, in direct comparison with rival products, we can say: It was the right decision for us.
Automation is becoming increasingly important for you. Which business goals do you want to achieve with the Plunet software and the automation possibilities it offers?
We want to increase our productivity further and, by automating our processes, gain more capacity for our communication processes and the essential tasks involved in professional translation services. By coordinating our translation projects more efficiently, we can optimize our time, costs, and quality.
Are you planning to acquire any more Plunet modules or integrations in the future?
We are planning to implement the Plunet modules AutomationManager and EventManager as part of our automation process. With these modules, we can automatically create cost overviews for new requests, and we can ensure a quicker transfer of translation files and shorter project processing times. The Plunet solution has a clear advantage here as well because it offers a dynamic integration with SDL Trados Studio, which we are already working with.
